After appearing in tv series such as Dharma and Greg and One World, Gonzalez later starred alongside Joe Mantegna and Gabrielle Anwar in the Lifetime Original Movie My Little Assassin as Fidel Castro’s son. But it was his six-episode appearance as Andy, the gay yuppie on MTV’s Undressed that drew the most attention.
In the year 2000, Gonzalez completed two films. Scenes of the Crime, which starred Jeff Bridges, Jon Abrahams, and Noah Wyle, premiered at the 2001 Cannes Film Festival. Dominique Forma directed the film. Spun, an independent film starring Mena Suvari, Mickey Rourke, Brittany Murphy, and John Leguizamo, was the second picture. It premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in 2003. Gonzalez also got the lead role in Resurrection Blvd., a Showtime original series that premiered on June 26, 2000. Gonzalez portrayed Alex Santiago, a pre-med student who dropped out to pursue a career in boxing. The film was a hit, and it was quickly turned into a weekly series on Netflix.
Gonzalez’s film career continued with two more films. The first was the Sea of Dreams which was shot in May of 2003 in Veracruz, Mexico. Nick then spent the summer in Fiji, where he finished filming Anacondas: The Hunt for the Blood Orchid, which premiered in theatres on August 27, 2004. Gonzalez made an appearance in Melrose Place as well (2009). On the ABC show Off The Map in 2011, he played Mateo.
